2. Prima Fishing

A man-made lake in the midst of Puchong’s residential area. It isn’t a completely natural “ambiance,” but it isn’t your typical fishing pond. Peacock Bass, Giant Snakehead, and other freshwater species are the target species in this pond. Local anglers usually come here to try their luck at catching Peacock Bass. You might imagine a large peacock bass, but this isn’t the Amazon, and we only have butterfly peacock bass here, so they’re tiny. You’ll have to put in some effort to catch your fish, but once you do, it’ll be well worth it. For those who don’t enjoy fishing ponds and don’t have the time to drive outside of KL, this is a good option.

The Goliath Grouper calls this place home. Hundreds of Giant Grouper have been stocked in this one-of-a-kind fishing pond. The smallest fish we’ve caught is around 10KG, and the largest we’ve caught is around 80KG, which is rather large! One thing I admire about this location is that the pond never disappoints. If you only have a few hours to spare, don’t like to wait long for a nibble, and want to show your friend that you truly caught something at the end of the day. Then this is the location for you. Simple hook and bait fishing, with the best part being a definite catch. The enormous fish would make an excellent trophy for a fast fishing trip here. If you’re still skunked, you’ll need to find a new hobby.

In this pond, you can use a soft plastic or a fishing lure. You can take your catch home from the other three ponds. Barramundi and snapper are the most common species caught. This pond has a strong bite rate as well, although it is rather remote from the main road, so getting there will be difficult.
