Melawati Hill, or Bukit Melawati, is a historical hill in the town centre that is home to several unique landmarks, including the Altingsburg Lighthouse, the Royal Mausoleum, and the Poisoned Well. This hill, built in the 18th century, was once a point of defence against enemy troops, but it is now a popular tourist destination and home to cheeky silvered leaf monkeys. In fact, the temple is the only one in the world with manifestations of all 51 Shaktis.
3. Nature Walk through the Kuala Selangor Nature Park
The park is home to over 150 bird species, 57 of which are migratory; we recommend visiting between September and April, when the park will be visited by these birds migrating from countries such as Russia. It appears only a few days each month and for a few hours each day.
